Hello WOF --
I discovered your booth at Wondercon this weekend and was interested in finding out how to pitch a graphic novel project to members of your group. Do you have a meeting that I might attend? (I'm in SF).

The idea is to tell the story of the creation of the novel Candy, a breakthrough comic porn spoof written by two Beat era expat writers in Paris, Terry Southern (who later went on to write screenplays for Dr. Strangelove, Barbarella and Easy Rider, among others) and Mason Hoffenberg, a brilliant junkie poet. Candy is the story of a preternaturally sexy innocent from Racine WI, Candy Christian, who gets into all sorts of messes as an object of desire by a truly ridiculous and horrible sequence of suitors. The book is a mashup of Candide, The Perils of Pauline, and The Story of O. The story of its creation is a story of greed, lust, 1950s censorship, proto-feminism and crazy hipsters. It's a great tale and would make a great graphic novel. There's already some interest from Terry Southern's literary executors. So it needs an artist (at least one!)

Please give me a shout or an email if you think the project might be of interest to any in the WOF circle. I can tell you more about it and me if so. Thanks much!

All best,
