So the great online sex magazine Nerve asked me to contribute to their weekly dating advice column. Not because I’m the best comic book writer on my block (unverified) but because I’m a pit bull owner.

David Pirkola, a comics retailer in Grand Rapids Michigan, is in stable but critical condition after being shot during a robbery in his store.

The wonderful folks at iFanboy have set up a fund to help David with his medical bills as he was uninsured. As a person who spends a fair amount of time behind the counter of a comic book store, this is a very important cause to me. I recently spent some time in Vietnam and was surprised to discover that X-men is a leading brand of shampoo and soap. In what appears to be an all out, above board bootleg operation the company responsible also sells X-teen and Dr. Men products.

Today I completed my first 20 page comic script in anticipation of the Writers Old-Fashioned WonderCon mini-comic challenge!  Woo Hoo!  Now to scrounge around for those thumbnails it all started from and send them along with the script!

In the better late than never category, I made a short little trailer to promote my graphic novel Continuity. Why promote a book that came out a year and a half ago? Because it’s still in print and available as a free download.

Writers Old Fashioned will have an artist alley table at the upcoming WonderCon this February 22-24. The authors of Continuity, First Moon, the Homeless Channel, Less Than Hero and Smoke and Guns will be on hand to discuss their work. We’ll also be debuting exclusive mini comics from the gang and previewing upcoming projects. So please stop on by and say hello.

Welcome to the Writers Old Fashioned website. After a year of getting together once or twice a month to talk comics and have a few drinks, our little group decided to stake out some space here on the internet to keep everyone up to date on our comic book projects, appearances, and general odds and ends.
