Miners Mutiny, First Look

Keep your hands on your holsters and don’t be jumping no claims. Here we have folks, a nugget of what’s to come this October at the 2010 Alternative Press Expo.

Miners Mutiny, the first full-length comic book of the forthcoming trilogy, is the story of a man looking for trouble in a small gold mining town where no one has anything better to do.

Loaded with TNT, wild women, and plenty of whiskey to keep your whistle whetted!

Yeeeeeee HAW!

NPR’s Snap Judgment Features Stephenny Godfrey & STORM

Last WonderCon, NPR Producer Stephanie Foo had one question on her mind:  What was the first superhero that you created?  She asked this question to many comic book artists and Stephenny Godfrey and I were included in her project (I found it rather serendipitous that she wanted to know about the heroes I created as a kid as I am drawing them now as an adult for my self-published memoir fantasy comic Princess Witch Boy). I won’t use the term writer’s block, or artist’s block or whatever verbiage is used to describe this happenstance.  We all know Continue Reading »

Trifecta

When I’m not reading comics, I’m making comics. When I’m not making comics, I’m teaching comics. And my students are starting to get some attention for their work!

Ben Costa wins a Xeric.
Bex Freund lands her work in a literary magazine.
And KOAK takes her character sketches to a whole new level.

In the Trenches 04.06.2009

My relationship with comics has been rocky, to say the least. So let me just start at the beginning

At first it was all laughs. Comics and I would chill under the tree at the playground We’d go for long bike rides looking for a good place to spend some quality time together. When I was sad, or scared, Comics would always be there for me to take me away from it all. Comics showed me the world could be a better place and I loved them for it. I was determined to give something back to the medium I loved so much, so I made a commitment: I would create comics. Continue Reading »
